🔎 Don’t See Your City on the Map? Here’s How to Host Your Own Law Day of Action Event

Across the country, lawyers are stepping up to defend the rule of law, judicial independence, and the integrity of our profession — and we need voices in every city to make this moment as powerful as it can be.

If there’s no Law Day of Action event near you, don’t wait for someone else to organize one — it can be you. We’ve made it SUPER easy to get on the map (keep reading)!

Whether you're organizing through your local bar association or pulling together a few committed colleagues, something is always better than nothing — and you won’t be doing it alone.

👇 Here's What to Do!

This Organizer Toolkit below walks you through every step — from building your team, to securing a location, to finalizing your run of show. But here’s a quick overview of the most important first steps:

✅ Step 1: Gather Your Core Team

Find 2–3 other attorneys who can help move things forward fast. Assign roles like outreach, logistics, and media contact. If you’re riding solo, that’s also okay too - other cities have solo organizers and we’re collectively helping spread the word to get them attendees!

✅ Step 2: Finalize Your Event Format

It doesn’t have to be big. A brief press conference, an attorney oath reaffirmation, or a small gathering outside your courthouse are all powerful.

✅ Step 3: Secure a Location

If possible, aim for the steps of your local federal courthouse — and contact the courthouse now about permit requirements if you’d like. (See organizer toolkit for more info.)

Once you’ve confirmed these basics, you’re on your way. Keep it simple. Focus on unity. Our voices together are what matter most.

📍STEP 4 - Getting on the National Map ASAP

The sooner your event is listed on the map, the sooner it can be promoted across our networks.

There are two ways to get on the map:

🛠️ Option 1: Set It Up Yourself in ActionNetwork

Best for those who are tech-savvy or already have an ActionNetwork account:

  1. Get started with ActionNetwork. You will have to register as a user, and then make a group.

  2. After you've set up a group in ActionNetwork, you can create your own event. Details on how to do so are in this help article.

  3. After your event is set up in ActionNetwork, please send the direct link for the event to Stephanie@L4GG.org. She can then send you an invitation to connect your event and add it to our national map.

✍️ Option 2: Let Us Set It Up For You

If you’re an individual organizer or just want us to handle it for you, Lawyers for Good Government (L4GG) is providing digital organizing support to Law Day and can create the event and add you as an admin — or manage it ourselves. Just fill out this quick form!

The threats we’re facing are immense, but so is our power to respond. When attorneys show up in counties and cities, we remind the public that the rule of law still matters.
